Lao traditional dress or Xout Lao which translates to ‘Lao outfit” is worn by men, women and children, and is a Laotian national costume. The style of the costume varies based on gender, region where the person is from, and the occasion that the outfit is worn. These traditional outfits are usually made from silk and show detailed patterns.
The Great Wall of China is a series of fortifications along the northern border of ancient China. Some of these walls run parallel to each other and are not connected. The walls were originally built-in 7th century BC. Since then, more walls have been added and many maintained throughout various dynasties. The purpose of these walls was to protect against nomads from the north, regulation of Silk Road trade, and immigration control. The wall is 13,171 miles long, and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. The best-preserved and most notable portion of the wall comes from the Ming dynasty and runs 5,500 miles.
