Lucian Blaga was a Romanian poet, playwriter, novelist, and philosopher. In 1926, he became one of Romania’s diplomatic ministers and worked in several locations. In addition, he was a professor at the University of Cluj and taught cultural philosophy. In 1956, he was nominated for the Nobel Prize of Literature; however, Romanian’s communist government sent emissaries to Sweden to protest against his nomination on the grounds that he was an idealist philosopher. Due to this, Blaga’s poems were banned until 1962. One year after his death.

Romania’s coat of arms was adopted by Romanian Parliament in 2016. The coat of arms shows a golden aquila or “eagle-bearer” holding a cross in its beak, a crown on its head, and a mace and sword in its talons. It is made of three colors: red, yellow, and blue. These colors represent the Romanian flag. In the center of the aquila is the Lesser Coat of Arms of the Kingdom of Romania which was used between 1922 and 1947.
